Artist Statement

Digital Photography and Film Photography

I enjoy taking pictures of people and capturing their true personality on camera. After I decided that this is where I would like to focus, I came up with the idea of spotlighting the juxtapositions within people’s personalities.

I am exploring contrast with the idea rather than the actual elements of the photo. The idea is explored through the separate pictures themselves. Each individual picture requires essentially a new theme as each person has a different personality.

With each new piece, a new person and their personality are represented.

Digital photography further explains my concentration by allowing an alterations component. This provides a secondary a secondary way to affect the picture after it is taken.
