Mentors

Ansel Adams
Mount Williamson

I really like Ansel Adams' work. He captures nature like no other in my opinion. His photos of Yosemite are an inspiration. They show the beauty of nature in a way that cannot be ignored, which is why they helped insure the preservation of the land.

Taryn Simon
Cannibus

Taryn Simon opens up America's cabinet of curiosities by documenting off-limit zones like quarantine sites, nuclear waste facilities, death rows and C.I.A. offices. Her work is provocative and has a message. That's the biggest reason it appeals to me.

Dorothea Lange
Mississippi Delta Girl

American documentary photography and best known for her Depression-era work. Lange's photographs humanized the tragic consequences of the Great Depression and profoundly influenced the development of documentary photography. Again, there is a message behind most of her work which is why I find it inspiring.

Gregory Colbert
Ashes and Snow Exhibit

His work explores the interaction between man and animal. It grabs you, holds you, mesmerizes you. It doesn't let go. I admire his ability to have animals and humans in the same photo without it seeming chaotic. There is such a sense if piece and tranquility to all of his work.

Diane Arbus
American photographer noted for her portraits of people on the fringes of society, such as transvestites and prostitutes, and ordinary working-class citizens, in unconventional poses and settings. They are strange but I very much so enjoy their chaos.

The Grass is always...

...greener on the other side. I like this photo and how intensely green it is.

I need some help...

...with my concentration idea. Basically what I think I'm going to focus on is consumerism, specifically on the need for a ridiculous amount of options/choices. I'll probably do separate pictures depicting different areas of the capitalistic market (clothing, cars, food/drinks, etc.). The purpose of the whole thing will be to expose how preposterous it is that people need so many options. Below is a picture of what they will kinda look like but the whole concept/idea thing isn't fully developed yet.

So since this I have decided to change my concentration idea yet again. Now it is juxtapositions within people's personalities.

And Downward goes...

...the economy. That's right folks the economy is going south and fast.
